Ethos and Values

The Governing Body supports the School to pursue the following educational aims:

  • To help pupils to develop lively, enquiring minds and the ability to question and argue rationally and to master physical skills;
  • To promote self-discipline through working in a clearly structured, disciplined and caring environment;
  • To encourage respect for religious and moral values and tolerance and awareness of the needs of others;
  • To ensure success, achievement and the development of potential. Success in public examinations is a necessary step on the road to fulfilment;
  • To promote high levels of numeracy and literacy;
  • To help pupils understand the world in which they live;
  • To help pupils to appreciate human achievements and aspirations;
  • To prepare pupils to take their place in adult society;
  • To encourage skill in individual and team games and promoting the constructive use of leisure time.
