Sixth Form Admissions Consultation (2020 Entry)
The Governors of Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton, wish to consult on changes to the Sixth Form Admissions Policy for entry in September 2020. This policy would apply to pupils currently in Year 10 and below. In particular, it is proposed to change the Sixth Form entry requirements to read:
The following entry criteria apply to all applicants (internal and external):
a) For entry into Year 12, a pupil is required to achieve a minimum of Grade 5 in at least five GCSE subjects including GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English Language.
b) In addition, a pupil must reach the published requirements for entry onto his proposed course of study. Requirements for individual subjects are stated in Sixth Form Information Booklet, which is available from the School and on the School’s website (www.ermysteds.co.uk).
For individuals who fail to achieve these requirements, the Headteacher will consider any extenuating circumstances before deciding whether or not to offer a place in the Sixth Form.
A copy of the draft 2020-21 Sixth Form Admissions Policy can be found here. Please note that no significant changes are being proposed to arrangements for admissions to Year 7 and, therefore, the Year 7 Admissions Policy does not form part of this consultation.
The consultation period begins today, Monday, 10 December 2018 and ends on Monday, 21 January 2019 at 12:00 pm (noon). Governors welcome responses to this consultation, either by email via firstname.lastname@example.org or in writing to:
Mr C Worts,
Chair of Governors,

All responses to this consultation should be submitted by the deadline stated above.
