Best GCSE Results in Five Years

Year 11 students at Ermysted’s Grammar School are celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results, the best in five years. Over two-thirds of entries resulted in Grade A (or Grade 7) and above. In total, 71 boys secured six As or better, and 64 achieved seven or better. Top performers Santosh Guru, Duncan Marsden and Jamie Macdonald led the field securing a coveted Grade 9 in each of the new GCSEs. They were joined by Jonathan Rampley-Sturgeon, Thomas Broadbent, George Carey, Finlay Morrison and Samuel Morrison who each secured at least nine A*s. The Headmaster, Michael Evans, congratulated all the boys on their excellent performance and commented that “these results are as equally impressive as last week’s outstanding A-Level results and bode well for the years ahead.”
