Time to celebrate as Ermysted’s pupils achieve excellent results

The long wait for GCSE Results was over today for Year 11 pupils at Ermysted’s Grammar School. The overall picture was once again very pleasing, with many pupils achieving highly. Top performers include Hamzah Ali and Seb Vereker, who were both among the group of students achieving eight Grade 9s.

“It has been a tense morning, but it is satisfying to see so many boys secure grades which allow them to follow their chosen path,” said Mr King, Head of Key Stage Four.

The new linear assessments required a lot of content to be covered in the final examinations and pupils have had to work very hard in preparation.

“I am really pleased with my results,” said Benny Hick. “This year has been tough, with lots of hard work but it has all paid off. I intend to stay at Ermysted’s and do my A-Levels.”

Several pupils voiced their appreciation of the teaching and support they have received over the past two years. Mrs Simms, Assistant Headteacher, said “It is a privilege to see the pupils enjoying their success, which is so well deserved.”

The Head Master, Mr Evans, said that he was ‘very pleased by the number of Grade 9s secured by the boys.’ He also stressed the importance of recognising the efforts of the other pupils who should also feel very proud of their achievements.
