Rugby Sevens

The 1st VII had a week off last week, with the Austin Friars School Sevens tournament falling victim to the weather, so with plenty of energy in their legs, the squad travelled to Keswick Rugby Club; surely one of the most picturesque clubs in the country for the Keswick School Sevens tournament. Despite fantastic nail-biting victories against the hosts and Cockermouth School amongst others, defeats against both QEGS Penrith and Dame Allans, Newcastle meant that the squad disappointingly but admirably finished third. This tournament marked the end of the season, and whilst it was free of silverware, there will be many happy memories to take away. Thank you to all of the boys who have committed so much time to playing Rugby at Ermysted’s – particularly those who will move on next year. Good luck!
