Styx

On the evenings of March 23rd, 24th and 25th, we enjoyed the musical performance ‘Styx’, a play based on album ‘Hadestown’ by Anaïs Mitchell. The album follows a variation on the Ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, where Orpheus must embark on a quest to rescue his wife Eurydice from the underworld. The original idea came from Tom in Year 13, who, over summer, gathered together a group of friends, wrote a script, held auditions, assembled a cast and began rehearsing! Congratulations to Tom, Eve, Toger, Molly, Isabel and Ben for your talents in writing, producing and directing as well as the rest of the cast and crew for the obvious hard work and effort put in. The play, which was produced in collaboration with SGHS, was a triumph, and very much enjoyed by all those who attended.
